Murphy's Guitars opened in June of 2007 by Mike Murphy, long-time school teacher and performer. Murphy had worked part-time at the now defunct Guitar City in Centerville for 14 years where he fell in love with the music business. After Guitar City closed Murphy pursued his dream and opened Murphy's Guitars on Main Street in Bountiful. Murphy's carries major brands such as Ibanez, Schecter, Crate, Seagull, La Patrie, Norman, Zoom, Samson , and Shure, and a full range of guitar accessories. The store also offers full repair services on acoustic and electric guitars and amplifiers. The store's six studios house a very active guitar and drum lesson program with teachers proficient in all playing styles. Murphy's Guitars prides itself in outstanding customer service and the largest selection of acoustic and electric guitars and amplifiers in Davis County.
